Support the Camp Desi Roots Scholarship Fund

My name is Prerna Srivastava, lifelong educator and co-founder of Camp Desi Roots, a transformative summer program dedicated to empowering South Asian youth by fostering a strong sense of identity, community, and belonging.  Our camps offer a unique blend of storytelling, outdoor adventure, and cultural immersion, with the vision of creating a joyful, inclusive community where South Asian youth can connect deeply with themselves and each other, and know that their stories and their voices matter.

This is why we’re asking that you to please consider contributing to our Camp Desi Roots Scholarship Fund – because Camp Desi Roots is a magical experience, and we refuse to let financial means be a barrier to access.  Anoop and I weren’t able to attend summer camps while we were growing up because our families couldn’t afford it – we want to ensure that’s not the case for our Camp Desi Roots community.

For this year's camp, our goal is to raise $20,000 in order to fully fund 10 beautiful campers who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford the camp.  This funding would cover campers' accommodations, meals, activities, and programmatic costs, including compensation for counselors and program partners, speakers, and instructors.
