My name is Prerna Srivastava, lifelong educator and co-founder of Camp Desi Roots, a transformative summer program dedicated to empowering South Asian youth by fostering a strong sense of identity, community, and belonging.  Our camps offer a unique blend of storytelling, outdoor adventure, and cultural immersion, with the vision of creating a joyful, inclusive community where South Asian youth can connect deeply with themselves and each other, and know that their stories and their voices matter.

This is why we’re asking that you to please consider contributing to our Camp Desi Roots Scholarship Fund – because Camp Desi Roots is a magical experience, and we refuse to let financial means be a barrier to access.  Anoop and I weren’t able to attend summer camps while we were growing up because our families couldn’t afford it – we want to ensure that’s not the case for our Camp Desi Roots community.

This year, our goal is to raise $20,000 to open the doors of Camp Desi Roots to 12 beautiful campers who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford the camp. A tax-deductible gift of $1,650 fully sponsors one camper, covering every part of their experience—from lodging and meals to meaningful activities and transformative programming led by caring counselors, speakers, and instructors. Through our partnership with SAYA, all donations are tax-deductible.
